Photo Impressionism - Photography plus Abstraction

"Once I was a Young Man"

Snapping the shutter is just the beginning of a journey. In some cases the journey starts before snapping the shutter. Sometimes the journey does not even include snapping the shutter but begins in the mind and is created without the use of a camera. But since most of my images begin with a photograph, I call my work Photo Impressionism.

Some of my works are fairly pure photography, others not so much. The initial image starts as a basic inspiration. At times the image is all about color; other times color just gets in the way. At times an image begs to have multiple versions (interpretations) created. See page "Apple"

The images on these page represent differing moods and feelings. Some images are for sale and some are not. The series "Farmers Markets", "Faces at the Races" and "Having Fun in Las Vegas" are presented as a viewing series that tell a tale that no one picture could.

Most landscapes and abstractions are for sale and are marked as such. All images are limited editions; most editions are for 10 or less.
